Should cleaning slots be kept open while customers are on holiday

Domestic cleaners rely on regular work for income to pay their bills and because they are self-employed they do not get paid holiday but what happens when a customer goes on holiday?  Should the regular slot still be paid for to keep it reserved for the customer?
